THIS WORKSHOPis for people who love the mandolin and who want to take their playing to the next level. The workshop series will cover various aspects of playing rhythm and lead mandolin, using popular Christmas holiday songs as a vehicle that can be applied to whatever kind of music you like to play. This four-weeks course will cover:
In addition, this workshop will teach you picking techniques such as cross-picking and tremolo, how to understand the fret board, how to count while playing, and many other concepts that will help you play and sound better than ever.
Each week we will focus on the melody, chords, rhythm, structure, and feel of a different holiday standard, including "Silent Night," "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen," "Jingle Bell Rock," and "Auld Lang Syne." In doing so you will gain a solid understanding of the mandolin and a new confidence in your playing.
Each session you will receive video practice tracks to play along with, video lessons of the information covered on Sunday, sheet music (chords/tablature), and informational handouts. All media will be shared with you through Dropbox.
